Captivated by the texture of the Sage leaf, artist Michael Vincent Michaud strived to recreate this same pattern in his own jewelry line. Casting directly from the leaf itself, he was able to capture the beveled, hand-cast glass elements, Michael created a similar design in this collection to resemble the way sage leaves lay while rooted.
Michael’s work is notably unique in his process of cast glass, a technique not typically utilized in jewelry. Michael Vincent Michaud is able to capture bold colors and textures that make each jewelry design pop in glow with the glimmer of forever changing lights that hit the glass elements.
The Sage Cuff bracelet from Alesia Boutique is cast in bronze layered in 24K Gold with cast leaf green glass elements. It measures 7 inches.
About the Artist:
Michael Vincent Michaud is notably unique in his process of cast glass, a technique not typically utilized in jewelry design. The cast glass he creates resembles beautiful pieces of natural sea glass, each with their own shape, texture and color. Through this craft, Michael is able to capture bold colors and textures which, when hit with radiant light, make each glass element of the jewelry glisten and glow.Surrounded by the skilled craftsmen at his father’s studio, Michael was inspired by the master craftsmanship of his father, as well as his own true love of “art glass” and the colors of the world around him. He studied extensively with some of America’s finest glass artists at various institutions including the prestigious Corning and Urban glass programs. As a young man, he experienced first-hand the art of creating handmade jewelry and metal objects.
